Frequently Asked Questions

(Last updated January 19, 2011)

There are some questions that we have received since we started this “loving rebuke” blog project back in 2008. Furthermore, with nearly twenty years in ministry experience as our guide, there are a few more that we figure might be on some people’s minds. So beginning with the two that we have received most frequently, let me please offer you these FAQs for your further examination:

1. Why the delay in addressing the Copelands’ sins?

2. Was there a private rebuke (Matthew 18:15)?

3. Why does this blog emphasize Copeland and not Mr. Glen Hyde?

4. Have there been any ministerial reviews?

5. Aren’t you doing the “prophet” harm?

6. Why don’t you walk in love?

7. Who are you to judge?

8. How well do you know KC?

9. Where is your loyalty to Kenneth Copeland?

10. What should people attending KCM/EMIC do?

11. Should I try to minister the truth at KCM/EMIC?

12. Should I continue to send money to KCM?

Why the delay in addressing the Copelands’ sins?

Q: Why has it taken you so long to document the sins of Kenneth Copeland and his ministry?

A: We have been very slow to populate this information in hopes that the mere presence of this blog on the Internet will be sufficient to encourage Kenneth Copeland, his family, and his ministry…to simply repent.

Redemption is our primary objective, and not an exposé per se. Since I had already addressed these issues with the Copelands repeatedly, we were hopeful that this website would function as a “shot across the bow” (to use a naval metaphor). We had hoped that they would turn and repent before necessity forced us to “wade through the muck and mire” of having to populate this blog with the details of their iniquity and apparent frauds.

Nevertheless, the Copelands have NOT repented to date (and we know they are quite familiar with this blog). Though it is a very unpleasant project on our part, we have come to the conclusion that we must undertake the task of populating this blog with details. We have tried to confront these issues with the Copelands for nearly three years in total, and publicly since this blog was launched in October, 2008. We have surely exercised tremendous patience during our efforts to confront these issues. Now the time has come for us to detail their many errors publicly—much as Nathan had the unsavory task of addressing the horrendous sins of King David  as is recorded in the Bible (see The Biblical Basis of this Public Rebuke for more about the biblical nature of this project).

Since we have now begun to populate this blog with details and documentation, please refer to the Table of Contents page and review the listings there for more specifics.

Was there a private rebuke?

Q: Matthew 18:15-17 says that before going public with a complaint, when your brother sins against you, you should, “go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.” Did you first follow the admonition from Matthew before starting this blog?

A: Yes we did, but NO we did not have to do so. Please let me explain both parts of that answer separately…

What we did: We drafted a total of 31 pages of documentation. This spiral-bound document consisted of a 6-page cover document addressed to the Copelands, and a copy of the 25-page Cease and Desist letter addressed to Mr. Glen Hyde. (Mr. Hyde was apparently attempting to pressure me into forfeiting my copyrights to the book which I wrote, Angel Flight 44, by waging a defamation campaign against me and the publisher. Remarkably, his efforts were also conveniently documented by Mr. Hyde in a letter. In our opinion, he had committed several frauds as well. This Cease and Desist letter detailed virtually every aspect for each recipient to see.) The cover letter to the Copelands requested their active intervention to stop Mr. Hyde’s unprovoked attacks. Taken together, the 31-pages also strongly suggested that KCM needed to start the ministry that Kenneth Copeland had promised.

I hand-delivered these documents (along with copies of the newly published and award-winning abridged edition of the book, entitled Angel Flight 44: A True Story) on February 28, 2008 to a security officer at KCM, who also signed for the materials. He then hand-delivered them to each of the people on the recipient list, one copy for each of the following: Kenneth Copeland, Gloria Copeland, John Copeland (CEO of KCM), Craig Atnip (one of the other KCM executives), Pastor George Pearsons, Pastor Terri Pearsons, and three extra copies for the “KCM Legal Department.” (Mr. Hyde’s copy of the 25-page C&D letter was sent to him directly by UPS.)

A few weeks later in March, I called the executive offices of KCM directly to follow up on this matter (since they had not called me after all that time had passed). In response, I received a call from Eileen Lawton, John Copeland’s personal secretary (who is a very sweet person, and certainly not responsible for any of her employers’ actions). I was not in the office at the time, so she left a voicemail. Therein she acknowledged that those deliveries had been made exactly as requested, and here is the audio of that voicemail recording:

Click here to play the audio file

So obviously, I attempted to address these issues with the Copelands very directly. They, on the other hand, never got back with me, nor made any attempt at all to resolve these issues (as I had requested). Neither did they make any effort to start the ministry that they had promised and for which they had collected contributions.

We were not actually scripturally bound to deal with this privately before going public, however. As Paul wrote to Timothy, “The elders…who sin are to be rebuked publicly, so that the others may take warning…” (See 1 Timothy 5:17-21). Elders persisting in sin are to be publicly rebuked—no matter who they are—and that without a private confrontation beforehand. Paul demonstrated this very clearly when he personally rebuked fellow-apostle Peter before the church in Antioch (see Galatians 2:11-21). Although Matthew 18:15-17 surely gave me biblical grounds to address these things personally with the Copelands beforehand as I did, I was certainly not required to do so according to the Scriptures.

(I explain these principles in greater detail within my post here entitled, The Biblical Basis for This Public Rebuke. Please review that post for further information.)

Why does this blog emphasize Copeland
and not Mr. Glen Hyde?

Q: It is clear from the text of your answers above and other details here on this blog that Glen Hyde is as much to blame for the lack of a new Angel Flight 44 ministry as Kenneth Copeland or KCM might be. Why do you not equally emphasize him as you do Copeland?

A: First, 1 Timothy 5:17-25 tells us that “elders who sin” should be rebuked publicly. Glen Hyde is certainly a great aviator, but he is not an elder in the Body of Christ (by any stretch of the imagination). Mr. Hyde is what the Bible terms a “baby in Christ” (see 1 Peter 2:2 for example). Spiritually, he is “carnal” and largely ignorant of the Scriptures and fundamental doctrines (see 1 Corinthians chapter 3). It is true Mr. Hyde did some heroic things with regard to the Hurricane Katrina and Rita’s flight missions. However, even many sinners (i.e. non-Christians) throughout history have done heroic things…so that fact is no measure of biblical spirituality. I have spent hundreds of hours with the man, and I can attest as a minister and pastor, the man is at best a “toddler” in Christ, and perhaps not much more than an untaught “infant” in Jesus.

On the other hand, Copeland is generally well-versed in Scripture (though he persists in various doctrinal errors). The Bible says of ministers in general, “Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.” (James 3:1, NIV) Moreover, Jesus said:

And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. (Luke 12:47-48, NKJV)

So according to the Bible, Copeland is more accountable than Mr. Hyde in God’s eyes. Therefore, this blog emphasizes Kenneth Copeland, his family, and his ministry (though Mr. Hyde gets referenced to from time to time by sheer necessity).

Have there been any ministerial reviews?

Q: Have any other ministers reviewed your website, or offered any criticisms concerning your approach to these matters?

A: To date, I have not received any “corrective” responses from any ministers. (Unless you consider the one who attempted to “confront” me with the same question that I just answered above…but the curious thing is that he never got back with me after I answered him with those same details.)

With that one possible exception above, all the ministers (to date) who have made the effort to contact me—including those I know personally—have only had positive feedback. I believe this is because I have first taken the time to ensure that I was biblical in my approach, and then I subsequently included many of these Scriptures here on this website. Consequently, honest ministers of God’s Word respect these facts and have tended to support us in our efforts.

Aren’t you doing the “prophet” harm?

Q: The Bible tells us to do God’s prophets no harm. Why aren’t you living by that command?

A: Those passages are found in 1 Chronicles 16:15-22 and Psalm 105:8-15. To do this question justice, my answer requires three-parts…

  1. I am not doing Kenneth Copeland or anybody else any bona fide “harm” according to the Bible. If scripturally rebuking someone and calling them to repentance is doing them “harm” then why did God send so many prophets to rebuke Israel? Why did the apostles preach a strong Gospel of repentance in the book of Acts? (Note especially Acts 26:20.) Why did Paul write his epistles to correct the churches…or Peter his…or James his? (I think you get the point). Biblical rebuke and calling someone to repentance is true biblical “agape” love, which cares for their souls. Thus, I am actually doing the Copelands biblical good, and not harm. (See these RichVermillion.com articles for more on this topic.)
  2. If you watch the video embed in the right column of this blog, you will discover that I am considered by many to walk in the prophet’s office myself. Thus, I am a true prophet rebuking an errant/false prophet, much like Micaiah did towards Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah in 1 Kings 22:13-40 , and like Nathan did with David regarding Bathsheba in 2 Samuel chapter 12. In other words, this is actually my job.
  3. As I detailed in the post The “Convenient Doctrines” of Preachers in Sin, those two Bible passages referred to within the above question (again, found in 1 Chronicles 16:15-22 and Psalm 105:8-15) also stated that the Lord said “touch not My anointed.” When read in context, it is clear to see that the “anointed” in those passages refers to the nation of Israel as a whole. When then interpreted in the light of New Testament theology, these passages would apply by necessity to the Body of Christ—the Body of the Anointed One—and not merely to a “chosen few.” Thus, it is actually Kenneth Copeland (and his family, ministry, etc.) who is guilty of violating those Scriptures because of his many sins against the Church; it is not me for holding him accountable for those sins.

In closing, please keep in mind also that Kenneth E. Hagin, Sr. previously attempted to correct Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, and others, with regard to their doctrinal errors and integrity problems. If they had simply listened to the counsel of the that senior minister (who was considered by them and others to have been a senior prophet also) none of this would be necessary today.

Why don’t you walk in love?

Q: God’s Word says that love covers the multitude of sins. Aren’t you being unscriptural in exposing someone?

A: Let me first refer you to the answers already written above, for several of them also answered this question as well. Secondly, let’s examine James 5:19-20 in its full and proper context:

My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

So who covers the “multitude of sins”? Those who turn sinners from the error of their ways by calling them to repentance. In other words, I am trying to cover their sins…by holding the Copelands accountable publicly and calling on them to repent (as Paul did to Peter in Galatians chapter 2, as was discussed previously in an answer above).

My real concern is all those who claim to “love” the Copelands and yet do not have a true concern for their souls and eternal well-being.

Again, please keep in mind also that Kenneth E. Hagin, Sr. previously attempted to LOVINGLY correct Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, and others, with regard to their doctrinal errors and integrity problems. If they had simply listened to the counsel of the that senior minister, none of this would be necessary today.

Lastly, I discuss this same issue in further detail within the first two posts of this blog: The Biblical Basis for this Public Rebuke and The “Convenient Doctrines” of Preachers in Sin. Please see those posts also.

Who are you to judge?

Q: Who are you to stand in judgment of a minister who has done so much good?

A: Let me again first refer you to the other answers above, for several of them also answered this question as well. Second, let me hit several points quickly here:

  1. Jesus said we were to “judge a tree by its fruit” (Matthew 12:33). Bad fruit = bad tree. Simple. Jesus told us to judge the fruits of others to determine their true character.
  2. Jesus also said to “judge not according to appearances, but judge with righteous judgment” (John 7:24). Jesus told us to judge righteously. In other words, get your facts straight first…then judge accordingly. I know my facts.
  3. Jesus told us not to judge…until we have first checked our own hearts to ensure we are not being hypocritical (see Luke 6:41-45). “Then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye,” the Lord continued to explain. I have checked my own heart first (and continue to check/monitor it), and I “see clearly” as I endeavor to take the speck out of my brother’s eye; since it is only hypocritical judgment that Jesus condemned in this passage, I am being very scriptural in how I am pursuing this matter. (And this same biblical truth would also apply as a response to any questions raised in conjunction with Romans chapter 2.)
  4. Paul wrote not just once, but three times (1 Corinthians chapter 5, and 15:32-34, and 2 Thessalonians 3:13-18) to the churches to shun those professing Christians whose lives were not truly in conformity to God’s righteous standards. Jude devoted his entire epistle to this topic. Peter devoted most of his second epistle to it. John, the so-called “apostle of love,” addressed these topics within his first, second, and third epistles. He even gave several “tests” to determine if someone is really a Christian or not (e.g. The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected.…see 1 John 2:4-6)
  5. In Hebrews 10:24 we read, “…let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds…”. And in 2 Thessalonians 3:14-15 , “And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.” My brothers and sisters…we are certainly called by God to be our brother’s keepers.

So the question should NOT be, “Who are you to judge?” but rather, “Who are you NOT to judge and admonish your brother to live holy before God?” In essence, anyone who insists that Christians should never judge others either does not know his Bible…or he has something to hide himself.

How well do you know KC?

Q: I can see you in the videos and pictures on this website with Kenneth Copeland on the platform; and he has called your name out publicly. How well do you know him?

A: I have never been on vacation with the man or his family, nor have I been to their personal homes. As has been stated already, I worked with him and the KCM ministry regarding the Angel Flight 44 book project. In so doing, I have spent numerous hours cumulatively with Mr. Copeland through the course of the project. Nevertheless, it would be very inaccurate to imply that we were close personal friends of the family.

I also appeared with Kenneth and Glen Hyde on the platform at the 2006 Southwest Believer’s Convention (which is pictured in the header of this website), and have been addressed by him in other meetings publicly, such as at the 2007 KCM Minister’s Conference.

To give you some perspective on all of the above, keep in mind that there are many people on staff at KCM—some who have been there for many years—and yet have never even met the man. One of the WFAA videos from our News Video page includes interviews from former KCM employees talking about this bizarre fact (in English only):

Thus, to have had the association with him that I have was surely God-ordained, for I never sought it…it just happened. Now I am calling the brother to repentance, knowing firsthand many of the issues that need to be addressed.

Where is your loyalty to Kenneth Copeland?

Q: You have known the man, and have been given access to him that many at KCM/EMIC have not. He even worked with you on a book project. Shouldn’t you show him more loyalty than what you are doing here on this “rebuke” blog?

A: I am far more loyal to the Lord Jesus Christ than I am to any person here on earth, and would never violate my loyalty to the Lord Jesus for the sake of an errant minister—no matter who he may be.

Jesus was tortured on my behalf, and by His stripes I am healed. Jesus was nailed to a Cross, and through His shed blood my sins are remitted and I am set free from the bondage of sin. Jesus arose from the dead on the third day so that I might be justified and have resurrection life. Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Father, and poured out His precious Holy Spirit into my life. Jesus gave me His Word, written by the holy apostles and prophets. Jesus was even so gracious as to call me into the ministry that I might serve and proclaim Him.

Um,…what has Copeland done for me that compares to any of that?

Please do not get me wrong: I am thankful to God for what the Lord has done for me and my family through Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, George and Terri Pearsons, and all of KCM/EMIC, through the years we were formerly associated with them. Nevertheless, it is only God Who gets the glory for those wonderful things…not the Copelands. Even the apostle Paul was mindful of this fact when he wrote:

What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. (1 Corinthians 3:5-7, NIV)

It is an abominable shame, but there are many people who are more loyal to errant ministers (like the Copelands) than they are to the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. This is evidenced by the fact that they will violate biblical precepts in order to continue to be “loyal” to those in error—and even follow them into sin, or at least “support them” while the ministers are in error. I have seen this time and time again throughout our years in ministry, and it is detestable in God’s eyes…for it is a form of idolatry.

In truth, most of those people really do not have any genuine concern for the welfare of the errant ministers, but only for their own agendas. Furthermore, to be really blunt, many of these self-serving wretches are simply trying to gain favor with those errant ministers by “proving” their loyalty to them…with an aim toward gaining promotion or advantage thereby. Such people are really a curse to the Copelands, to themselves, and even to the Body of Christ. Paul said clearly of such people:

For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. (Philippians 3:18-19, KJV)

To be truly loyal to an errant minister—including the Copelands—we would have to show more concern about their spiritual well-being than for what the errant minister’s opinions of us might be. We have to be primarily concerned about the Kingdom of God and the souls of those in error, not our own personal agendas. Surely, this is a topic to which Proverbs speaks very clearly:

Open rebuke is better than secret love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. (Proverbs 27:5-6, KJV)

The Copelands are literally surrounded with self-serving “enemies” who feign “friendship” for their own agenda’s sake…but they have precious few bona fide “friends” speaking truth into their lives. Something is terribly wrong about that.

So in conclusion: I choose to be loyal to the Lord first of all, and then subsequently I am scripturally loyal to the Copelands—evidenced by the fact that I am holding them accountable to a biblical standard of conduct, with an aim to ‘save their souls from death, and to cover the multitude of sins’ (James 5:20).

What should people attending KCM/EMIC do?

Q: I am attending (or on paid staff) KCM/EMIC and can, from firsthand experience, confirm some of the things you are saying. Should I leave the ministry, or should I stay there in hopes that things will turn around?

A: Let me answer that question by simply taking you to the Bible:

Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 5:11, “I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.” Later he wrote, “Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character.” (15:33)

For most believers, the principle to follow is, “Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life” (Proverbs 4:23, AMP). To avoid having your heart poisoned by the “cult like” adherence they have to the unbiblical portions of their teaching (and to the very persons of the Copeland family) you would be best off getting you and your family out of there quickly.

If you work there, do not let a paycheck keep you somewhere that the Spirit of God is not. (The Bible calls that, “idolatry” and such tends to be sternly confronted by the Lord Himself…just ask Israel).

Should I try to minister the truth at KCM/EMIC?

Q: I know what you are saying in your answer to the question above, but shouldn’t I try to minister to the people and leaders at KCM/EMIC and try to get them to repent and change?

A: You will have to go to God in prayer on this one. I will not be so presumptuous as to tell everyone what they “should” do in a sweeping fashion regarding such a thing. Each person has a different calling, a different temperament, and a different tolerance level for error (i.e. before becoming affected thereby, or so irritated they cannot bear it any longer). For most believers, my answer to the previous question above would be the biblical directive. However, it is certainly possible some people can be led by the Spirit to attempt to influence the Copelands and KCM/EMIC to turn back to God’s Word and holy standards. For those in this last category, I can give you some Scriptural guidelines that should to speak to your own heart as you seek the Lord about how to proceed:

If your intended approach is to be confrontational (especially on the KCM/EMIC campus or at any of their meetings) please keep in mind to be sure your are being led by God’s Spirit—and do NOT be naïve about how they are likely to react to your efforts. Many prophets in Scripture were obviously sent to directly confront Israel—even while standing in the Temple compounds (note Jeremiah 20:1-6 and Amos 7:12-16). Yet, though they were certainly obeying God in doing so, they also tended to get abused and cast out. So if you have this in your heart, please use wisdom as you confront them…and be prepared for hostility if you get bolder within your confrontation than their comfort level can handle. KCM/EMIC has ejected people from their property and meetings before (though some were likely for legitimate reasons). Therefore, do not be surprised if they ask you to leave with an armed security guard standing by to make sure you comply. I have witnessed one such a confrontation of a woman there myself, and we have heard accounts of other such incidents besides that one. So let me repeat: Be sure you are being led by God’s Spirit, and do not be naïve how they might receive your admonitions from Scripture.

If your intention is to approach them more subtly, then consider Barnabas as an example from Scripture. Barnabas was always trying to help bridge differences between people, and promote peace. This type of person can stay within a ministry like KCM/EMIC and calmly, lovingly, influence people (even leaders) towards biblical truth. They will typically NOT be very direct in their approach, but will choose more subtle ways to address the issues at hand.

Nevertheless, keep in mind that if such a person does not fortify his/her personality with a determined desire to stay steadfast to the Lord and His Word, he or she can be led astray into spiritual compromise. In other words, they can become so determined to “encourage” people or to help everybody “get along” that they end up doing the opposite by compromising their own Christian standards. A perfect example of this type of weakness in the “Barnabas” type of minister was when Peter came to the church at Antioch:

When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong. Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.

When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter in front of them all,…(see Galatians 2:11-21).

Peter was the main culprit in this matter, but Barnabas added to the division between the circumcised and uncircumcised believers. He was making the situation worse, not better. He had compromised biblical truth, and in so doing, had hurt a lot of sincere Christians with his hypocrisy. Thus, Paul’s rebuke to Peter was also an indirect rebuke to Barnabas as well. So if you are of this more “gentle” type of temperament, be sure to maintain guard over your own spirit so you do not enter into error yourself. If you sense compromise in your own heart in any way, please run away from there immediately.

Lastly, let me emphasized that you need to thoroughly study and prepare yourself before tackling such an effort. I would recommend that you ponder Paul’s “pastoral” epistles (1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, and Titus) for some further insights regarding ministry and confrontation of those in error. I would also recommend that you read the advice given to young ministers by the great revivalist, Charles Finney, back in 1842. It is a powerful exhortation on the proper qualities to be found in a godly and true minister of the Gospel, and you can download it either here or read it elsewhere from this Google list.

I also highly recommend you read Martin Luther’s Commentary on Galatians (the PDF of which you can download here). This version is a modern-English translation of what was originally written from lectures delivered by the esteemed reformer during the height of his theological capabilities.  (Note: Commentary on Galatians was also written BEFORE Luther became embittered in his later years and turned anti-Semitic, so the doctrine herein is pure and marvelous.) This  amazing book  contains not only some of the best teaching on FAITH that is available in print, but also shares insights into much of the persecution he and the other believers suffered at the hands of the Pope and his minions. Luther’s testimony will be very helpful to you; and, again, you will find his teaching on faith quite enlightening and superior to nearly all “Word of Faith” preaching done today.

Also, given the fact that Kenneth Copeland’s most ardent cult-like followers often compare him to the Pope (especially in reference to Copeland owning his own jet) let me also warn you that you should not be surprised if you find yourself facing similar (though probably more subdued) opposition to your efforts as to those which Luther himself did. Regardless, pray, be encouraged, be informed, and be sure you are being Spirit-led.

Should I continue to send money to KCM?

Q: I have been sending offerings to KCM (or paying my tithe to EMIC). Should I continue to do so, in the light of all the sins you are exposing on this blog?

A: Let me answer this question also by simply taking you to the Bible. John, who is often called the “apostle of love”, wrote in his second epistle:

Look to yourselves (take care) that you may not lose (throw away or destroy) all that we and you have labored for, but that you may [persevere until you] win and receive back a perfect reward [in full].

Anyone who runs on ahead [of God] and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ [who is not content with what He taught] does not have God; but he who continues to live in the doctrine (teaching) of Christ [does have God], he has both the Father and the Son.

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine [is disloyal to what Jesus Christ taught], do not receive him [do not accept him, do not welcome or admit him] into [your] house or bid him Godspeed or give him any encouragement.

For he who wishes him success [who encourages him, wishing him Godspeed] is a partaker in his evil doings. (2 John 8-11, Amplified)

In short, if Kenneth Copeland, his family, and his ministry, simply need to repent (as I and others insist that they do) then your offerings/tithes into that ministry and/or church make you “a partaker in his evil doings.”

Kenneth Copeland himself is fond of using Philippians 1:3-7 to claim that those who “partner” with him “share in his grace” because of their partnership. While I might not argue that teaching with regard to the apostle Paul and his relationship with the Macedonian churches, I would certainly contest Copeland’s assertion that there is any “grace” in KCM/EMIC that you would want to “partake” of…until they all repent of their multiplied sins and errors. The apostle John indicated in the passage above that a “curse” would be the result, not a “blessing” for “partnering” with Kenneth Copeland or his ministry as long as they are in error and sin.

So if you want your precious “seed” (financial or otherwise) to be blessed by God and returned to you in a “harvest” of righteousness…do not sin yourself by putting it knowingly into an errant ministry like KCM/EMIC. Of course, if you did not know about their sins/errors before now, the Lord is merciful and will not hold you accountable for their sins for what you did ignorantly before. Now that you know, however, this would be a different matter entirely.

Regarding the ministries supported by a portion of KCM’s revenues: If you want to support any of those (who are not themselves in error or sin) then I recommend that you do so directly. Sending it to KCM for them to distribute to others, would obviously taint your honest seed with KCM’s own iniquity. Furthermore, given the fact that there has been no account made of where the moneys earmarked for “Angel Flight 44” ended up, who is to say that it would EVER reach those other ministries anyway?

Of course, if the Copelands repent…we will ALL be able to rejoice. If they actually get saved, then we can even fellowship with them in the unity of the true faith of Jesus Christ. If they then demonstrate true repentance and sound doctrine over time, we could all then consider even supporting them financially and with our prayers in any genuine work of God that they may then undertake. Best of all: I will even have the honor of changing this blog from a loving rebuke, into a marvelous testimony of God’s grace within the lives of the Copelands.

What a wonderful day that will be. 🙂

Rich & Donna Recommend:

The book, "The Midas Touch," by the late Kenneth E. Hagin is an excellent resource for sincere Christians everywhere. Within this book, the author confronts AND refutes the hyper-prosperity teaching of Kenneth Copeland, Joseph Prince, Creflo Dollar, Jesse Duplantis, Leroy Thompson, Joel Osteen, and many others. Hagin's approach to the topic is non-technical and balanced. Thus, this book will help Charismatics and Word of Faith adherents to "detox" their doctrine in this area. It can also provide a foundational teaching on the subject of biblical prosperity in a manner suitable for all Christians.

The Kindle (eBook) edition of "The Midas Touch" can be purchased from anywhere in the world. Amazon's free Kindle app is available for Windows and Mac computers and laptops, plus most portable devices like Android and iPhone smartphones and the various tablet devices.
